Chickenpox can be accompanied with high fever and caugh.
Chickenpox rash is very itchy and it has pus inside the rash which can spread more by itching the infected area. Chickenpox usually spread in children under 15 years old but it can happen to any age that depend on your ammune system and vaccination against chickenpox that you recieved .
chickenpox infection is very contagious, an infected child should stay home and rest until the symptoms are gone.
Kids can be protected from chickenpox by getting the chickenpox (varicella) vaccine between the ages of 12 to 15 months.
It is also recommended a booster shot at 4 to 6 years old for further protection against the infection.
There are some signs or symptoms for chickenpox .
It starts usually with red rash that looks like an insect or bugs bite .
It appears on the back or the abdomen and face then it spread every where on the body including the throat, scalp and tongue.
The rash looks like red pimples that starts to be filled with pus and become very itchy then the pimples become brown dry scabs.
Usually kids have a fever, abdominal pain, sore throat, headache or a sick feeling before the rash appears.
These symptoms may last for a few days and it keeps getting worse if they did not take care of medication procedure including taking a bath three times a day and not scratching the rash to avoid any more spread of pimples.
It is very important to keep the infected patient away from other kids or infants to avoid the spread of the virus and to apply cold pads on infected area with luke warm bath more frequently in a day and the chickenpox medication that the doctor recommended.
